Working to change lives
Sarah Murphy has been a dedicated member of The Edna House team since 2019 and now serves as Executive Director. A proud alumna since 2015, she brings both professional expertise and lived experience to her leadership. Her personal recovery journey fuels her deep commitment to walking alongside women as they rebuild their lives.
Murphy played a key role in raising $1.25 million for The Edna House capital campaign, expanding the organization’s facilities and capacity to serve women in recovery. She is a 2023 graduate of the Neighborhood Leadership Development Program (Cohort XV) and has completed Strategic Leadership training at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management, and trauma-informed leadership training at Thistle Farms in Nashville, TN. She also holds certification in Adult Mental Health First Aid and previously served as a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist in Ohio.
Under her leadership, The Edna House has strengthened program delivery, staff development, alumnae engagement, and community partnerships. Murphy oversees strategic planning, fundraising, compliance, and daily operations while fostering a compassionate, structured environment where women feel safe, supported, and empowered.
She lives in Cleveland and, outside of work, enjoys reading, working out, visiting Edgewater Park, and riding her Harley-Davidson.
Vicki joined The Edna House in 2023 as our Program Administrator. In her role as Program Administrator, Vicki is responsible for all new admissions and all residents in Phase 1 of our program. She also oversees our volunteers, who facilitate over 30 groups weekly. Vicki brings lived experience in the health care field and uses some of those skills to help the residents in the house. Vicki is dedicated and enthusiastic about helping women throughout their recovery journey.
Bonnie has over 28 years of business experience and retired as a successful business owner in 2020. She began her search to find an opportunity to be of service to others and started at The Edna House as a volunteer conducting mock interviews with the women in our Job Skills program. She fell in love with The Edna House, which led to her applying for the position of Resident Recovery Manager. Her business management experience has been a contributory asset to helping the residents in our Phase II and III programs as she helps them prepare to re-enter their lives outside of The Edna House. Bonnie guides our residents via specific workplans to help them achieve goals that will enable them to live successful and sober lives. Bonnie’s educational background incudes a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Baldwin Wallace University, and she is an Army Veteran.
With over 20 years of expertise as a Regional Sales Support Manager overseeing the Cleveland and Pittsburgh offices, Janet’s responsibilities included managing the sales processes, regional administration, HR, and sales reporting. In 2022 she joined The Edna House, volunteering in our Job Skills program, utilizing her Behavior Event Interview technique. Adding to her commitments, in the summer of 2023, she assumed the role of Operations Coordinator, leveraging her organizational skills and extensive business background to enhance The Edna House’s operations and standard operating procedures.
Stephanie Parham served as a speech- language pathologist for 28 years in medical and academic settings. She retired to pursue entrepreneurship through her own company, Creative Communicative Connections, LLC. As an author and public speaker, she is passionate about using her spiritual journey to inspire women to embrace their authentic God-given gifts.
Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Disorders and a Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology. In addition, she was a 2023 graduate of the Central Ohio Parent Leadership Program, Cohort 4.
In May of 2025, Stephanie joined the Edna House as the Community Liaison. She has embraced the opportunity to generate new connections that will support the mission of The Edna House.
With over 20 years of experience as a clinical social worker, Karen helps individuals navigate challenges such as depression, anxiety, relationship issues, and life transitions. She uses evidence-based approaches—including Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy—to support clients in achieving their goals.
Karen’s approach is collaborative, strengths-based, and inclusive, creating a safe, non-judgmental space where people feel heard and empowered. A certified yoga instructor, she incorporates mindful movement and breath work into sessions when appropriate.
She holds degrees in Social Work from Cleveland State University and New York University, as well as an MBA from Kent State University. In 2024, she completed advanced leadership training and is currently pursuing certification in Motivational Interviewing-Informed Wraparound (MiiWrap).
Emi supports the mission of The Edna House by keeping daily operations running smoothly, and keeps our team prepared and supported so they can focus on caring for our residents. Emi leads our essential inventory and food pickup operations, while also managing key processes and vendor partnerships.
With a background in communications, graphic design, and art production, she brings a unique blend of creativity and thoughtful organization to her work. Emi's passion for this mission is deeply personal, strengthening her unwavering commitment to The Edna House.
