The Edna House is excited to announce the very first Race to Recovery 5k run / walk on Sunday, September 1, 2013 starting at 8:30am, at Edgewater Park in Cleveland. Runners and walkers of all ages are invited to participate in the race, which is being hosted to raise funds for an expansion of The Edna House, located at 2007 W.65th Street in Cleveland, which offers long-term, structured recovery and education for women with addictions.
“An expansion to our home will allow us to help more and more women with their long-term recovery from drugs and alcohol which is very important to us,” said Andrea Debiasio, Executive Director for The Edna House. “Right now we have women on the waiting list for a spot here, and it breaks our hearts to not be able to help them immediately.”
Participants will be able to enjoy festivities that have all been donated to help The Edna House host the race, including music, by Jack Elsenhut, food courtesy of Cleveland local vendors and yoga, thanks to Marsha Camino of Pink Lotus Yoga in Lakewood.
Registration can be done on the morning of the race, starting at 7:30am. You can also pre-register online at www.hmapromotions.net or mail form and payment to: PO Box 22622 Cleveland, Ohio 44122. Mail in and online registration ends August 29.
